CoHousing Bristol welcomes those who wish to work together to live in more sustainable and cooperative ways. Our community is at the pre-construction stage. Those applying to join our community will need to: 1. be 18 years or more of age,
2. have attended at least three of the CoHB monthly meetings, within a maximum 6 month period, 3. be suitable for the tenures and property sizes available; as the project develops and design details become agreed CoHB will be explicit about tenures and property sizes available. However, currently all tenures and property sizes are available. 4. complete an application form 5. be offered membership on acceptance by the CoHB membership subgroup, and sign a contract 6. serve a probationary period of 6 months from the date signing the contract, and thereafter apply for acceptance as a member by the next CoHB meeting (subject to a consensus of existing members.) 7. agree to abide by the rules below: CoHB Membership Rules
1. attend 50% of the General Meetings between the Annual General Meetings
2. the Co-operative principles
3. the Co-housing principles 4. the objectives of Co-Housing Bristol 5. the Memorandum & Articles of Association 6. treat all other members with respect and consideration and abide by the Equal Opportunities Policy 7. to all other CoHB policies 8. pay subscriptions & continue to keep up to date with them (at the rate set by the general meeting). 9. provide a CRB disclosure to the satisfaction of the CRB sub-group 10. complete a confidential financial declaration for the attention of the Treasurer 11. offer the same internal loans as other members, payable at the end of the probationary period. 12. treat all information about the project and other members in confidence 13. ensure that they understand the liabilities of Directorship
