Co-Housing Bristol is a co-operative that has come together to create a mutually supportive, socially inclusive neighbourhood in Bristol. We will build a strong community, which balances the benefits of group living with the needs of families and individuals, providing a secure basis to pursue rewarding and fulfilling lives. CoHB seeks to build and promote an intentional neighbourhood which is Socially, Environmentally and Financially Sustainable.

Socially Sustainable:

Co-Housing Bristol aims to reflect Bristol's diversity in its membership To this end we actively seek to be inclusive of all age groups and social and cultural backgrounds. Our community wants to provide not only a safe environment to meet the group's housing and recreational needs, but also to contribute to the personal development of all its members.

Environmentally Sustainable:

Environmental Sustainable principles are integral to CoHB's approach. From the materials used to build and maintain our homes, to our low energy consumption and minimal car use, our choices aim to minimise our ecological footprint. We hope to provide an exemplary model of ecologically sustainable urban living.

Financially Sustainable:

It is our aim to provide homes that are affordable to all our members. This would be achieved partly through economy of scale, design and materials. We are also developing discounted shared ownership and affordable rented accommodation schemes to provide low cost accommodation in perpetuity. It is essential that our settlement remains affordable for future generations.
